Author Topic: Argument with a family man  (Read 21576 times)

When making an argument, it is best to back it up with sources. When using an opinion, you are not arguing, you are just saying everyone is wrong and you are right.
Opinions are a statement of personal preference.  Of course I disagree with you but I can prove no more than you can that either is right or wrong.
He said "Opinions."  Which would refer to all opinions, not just yours.
This still implies that some opinions are better than others.

I used proquest. I got like 600 papers. They're written by men and women. You're crazy.
I'm crazy, but yet you believe a report because it has a large number of pages.

The Bible has a rather large amount of pages, does this mean it's true?

religious people have to say opinion

because they finally realized the classic "because god said so" horsestuff didn't fly, post 1900s
Or you could know how to differentiate between an opinion and a proven fact.  Aside from that, some religious people still follow a creationist logic circluar reasoning method of "proving" their "facts."

The difference, however, is that what you believe is right affects the freedom of homoloveuals, and what we think is right is trying to stop that. Sure your opinion can be whatever you want it to be, but that opinion shouldn't affect the lives of others the way it does now. Such as open hate and lack of freedom.

Not necessarily saying you do that, but in general, intolerance leads to this. I'd like to ask, when has intolerance ever been the right thing in this world?

This still implies that some opinions are better than others.
No, it doesn't.  He merely stated that opinions aren't good examples.  Are you stupid, or something?

That they can't control their attractions at all.

I never loving said anything like that.

What I said could also essentially mean "I don't mind girls so long as they don't show any attraction to me."

Obviously people can control their attractions. Stop trying to make things up from between the lines.

the kool kids klub hated gays, and were Catholics, and also against civil rights.

you should give em a call

Lol. Bisjac <3

I don't believe a report because it has a large number of pages. I believe 751 reports because they are 751 reports by lots of different authors from many different positions in life and political views.

The bible doesn't say biloveuality doesn't exist silly. I've read it. If you give me a minute I'll go upstairs and thumb through my copy of the NIV until I find the section about how God believes all homoloveuals should be exiled from Israel and quote it for you (and this is the only part where gay people are even mentioned in the bible).
Oh, you weren't saying biloveuality isn't true because the bible says it isn't, you were asking if the bible is true because it's a thick book, haha.

No, I don't judge the veracity of sources because of their length and it was silly of you to assume so.

I can prove a lot more than you with either science or history. You quote the Bible.

hey if im good enough looking for a gay guy, then i know i can score most girls.
i would consider it a good thing that a guy wants to bang me :D

Bisjac, you bring the lighter side to all controversy. :D

this god person you speak of, is pretty intolerant for such a compassionate person to all of humanity.

how do people base their life's values on him?

being gay is a choice
So, you're an idiot? Yes, you are. It's not clear to ANYONE what makes people gay. They don't choose to like pretty colors and say 'fabulous', jackass. Just like you don't "choose" what you like, you make a decision based on what flows naturally. God I hate people like you who can't seem to think for longer than 5 seconds.

It's funny how Satan has a vastly lower killcount that benevolent god.

I'm not saying intolerance is right and I'm not saying that my views aren't a danger to gay rights.  I'm aware that intolerance rarely has anything that the majority considers positive.  You saying that I can't affect their rights is like you affecting my rights by saying I can't do that.  Besides, my "hatred" goes only so far as causing me to avoid them.  So I'm quite certain that I am not invading anyone's rights.

I don't believe a report because it has a large number of pages. I believe 751 reports because they are 751 reports by lots of different authors from many different positions in life and political views.
If Heino F L Meyer-Bahlburg, Curtis Dolezal, Susan W Baker and Maria I New can believe in biloveuality enough that they can write a 15 page paper on how an enzyme deficiency is correlated to emasculation in females (and a suggested correlation to biloveuality), so can I.

And I was about to respond your second paragraph, but I read your edit.
