Author Topic: Bestbuy. Service at its worst.  (Read 3106 times)

Well, over the past couple of weeks, I was waiting for my computer to be fixed. I brought it to the store on may 4th. They said it would be fixed in a matter of 3 days. We called them up after 5 days of no service updates and it turns out they didn't know how to fix it. They shipped it away to California to get it fixed. They said it would be a matter of 5 more days. After those 5 days, we called them again. It turns out they didn't do a test to make sure it was fixed. So it was shipped back to NJ (Where I live) to the bestbuy store. The store found out it wasn't fixed so they sent it back to bestbuy saying it would be another 5 days. They "fixed" the computer and sent it back AGAIN. It turns out they broke the optical drive when it was being shipped back. The funny thing is that their motto on their service update emails is "it's in secure hands." After it being shipped to california where it stayed their for another week, they shipped it back. I went to pick it up today and I brought it home. Turns out it still doesn't work. I went back to the store and showed the computer down the managers throught saying how it still doesn't work. I also brought up the "Optimization" they were supposed to do to make it run faster. I questioned how they would make it run faster since they replaced both the Motherboard and the Hardrive AND the Optical Drive. It turns out, there was no optimization. I started bitching to the manager about how it was supposed to take all of 5 days and it wound up taking about 43 days. When I arrived, they tried to make me sign something saying I was happy with their service. I refused to so I kept on arguing back and forth with the manager untill I was able to take it home. I took it home and plugged it in and it turns out there was a boot failure. I brought it back to the store and they said "Sorry forgot to put the opperating system on it." Then I questioned again, "How could you do an "Optimization" when there is no operating system on it. They are repairing it again now and it should be done in 2 hours even though I doubt it.

Tl:Dr- Bestbuys service sucks and you should NEVER trust them with your computer.

lol
I would normally comment about that post but I believe this is a perfect time for a good ol' lol.

Never ever bring it to some geeksquad or w/e to fix it. They end up just loving it up more. You're better off fixing it yourself.

I would normally laugh at your troubles.

And this is not one of those times I wouldn't.

lol

BestBuy is dead to me.
lol
never liked it anyway :/

And its so EXPENSIVE too! My brother wanted to get the Terminator movie there for 13 bucks, then he went to Wal-Mart and he got 1 AND 2 for just 7 bucks each.

Well I had a warrenty (Excuse my spelling) on it so I assumed it would only take a couple of days and it would be worth it. Either way I won't give anything else to them again.

Did they ever tell you what the problem was?

I've never trusted Best Buy, because the name even sounds cheesy.

They said it was the Motherboard and Hardrive but I don't know. They could be lieing for all I know.

Exactly. It's a bunch of highschool grads thinking this is what the highpaying jobs are for computer specialists.

Well, they are obviously not specialists.

Update: I got it back and it is working. It turns out they accidently left a 4.7 G disk in the computer containing the entire install for windows vista. Boy are they stupid. I would hate to see what happens to the guy that left the disk there.
