I don't think we can really narrow it down to one song, specifically.
There's so many genres to consider.
You could listen to the radio and decide, but then it would still be a category.
You could say "Are We Human?" by the Killers could be considered, but that would still be narrowed to a certain populations - such as an age group.

The most popular song in my opinion is most certainly the happy birthday song. It's sung millions of times a day and no one ever seems to get sick of it.

I agree, it could be the Happy Birthday song.
However, technically that's the English version, and then we'd have to find out what percentage of the world speaks English.
