I got that, but I still got like 3 trojans. I had to send it in to Geek squad, it took them a month and a half to fix it. Luckily I had a warranty. They needed to replace the motherboard, the hard drive, the video unit, basically 75% of the computer was replaced. The guy said they shoulda just given me another one. Now I have kaspersky, it already protected me from 2 trojans:

Uh, the only reason that the motherboard could have any problems from a virus would be if it somehow forgeted up the BIOS, but then you can just reinstall it. Also, you don't need to replace the hard drive if it has a virus, and I don't see why you would need a new gpu. Sounds like you had some hardware problems along with viruses.

That or Geek Squad pulled the mechanic's oldest trick: you go in for an oil change and the mechanic says that you need new windshield wipers, the shocks need to be serviced and there's a funny sound in the engine that "he'll need to take a look at".

you're just a -snip- (don't want to be too much of an asshat, i just hate when people think people can hack into ips or some handicapped stuff like that). i, and many people i know, never have issues with security and never take precautions or take very low ones. you just did some stupid stuff.

I have never taken this stuff seriously, most of my posts are jokes, a few are comments about other people's jokes and the only time I've argued with people is when they start trying to past their opinions off as fact.

Mistakes? In this thread? I've made none except perhaps being too ambiguous with my replies. I should take into account people's various comprehension levels when saying something but sticking a warning label on a anecdote I post saying that: "oh by the way this is just an anecdote and I don't mean to imply anything by it", seems a little too bothersome.

I say stuff (Something of little value, Exclamation of annoyance), someone thinks my computer is crawling with viruses (despite the fact that I have, on these forums said that: I not only don't have viruses, I don't get them).

I say context, off-topic, blockland forum you think I mean blockland, I meant This is the Off-topic of a forum about something else. More than half of the post in this forum are not directly about the topic itself and many of those drift so far away from the topic they hijack the thread entirely. This is not only not a sin but it is to be expected. I don't take this seriously because no one does, I like most of visitors here come here to be entertained, I am amused most by the general chaos.




I think, that was pretty direct but I have been wrong in the past, therefor this post can also be seen as an explanation of the life cycle of fish.
