My only car accident was when I crashed my car ...in to my other car.
I was trying to go the the store but the clutch on my Mazda was giving me trouble. I had it parked on a small incline just in front of my dodge facing it. I was trying to shift into reverse so I could back out of my driveway but as it had been lately it was not going into reverse. I jiggled it around (as I had found I needed to, to get it in there) and when thought I finally had the stick in reverse I gave it a little gas, engine when vroooooomm... and the car when nowhere (it was still not in gear).
Anyway as anyone that drives a manual knows, when your car is not in gear, you don't have the E brake on and you are not on the brake, the car will roll.
I just happen to have a car that rolls very quietly.
Anyway as I am messing with the clutch and cursing I hear/feel a "crunch". My piece of stuff Mazda had rolled forward all of three feet and hit the back of my dodge with just enough force to break one of the tail lights.
My expensive custom tail lights.
Lucky for me I still had the stock tail lights in my garage and was able to switch them out until a replacement came. I would have filed and insurance claim but somehow I don't think "I hit my car with my other car" looks good on a driving record.
Not as harrowing a car crash as Sgt. Pepper but a car crash none the less.
