I saw some epic stuff on YouTube of this place. I am seriously considering getting it and leaving Roblox for good.

1) Is there any slowness, like lag or pauses? Server crashes?

2) Are the effects optional? Can you customize how good everything shows up? I run a Windows 98 and it has the worst graphics and graphics card ever.

3) Is it awesome? Is it worth it? I need feedback.

Wow uh ya Blockland is great.

but just by what you said i dont think your computer is going to support blockland.

I'm just being cautious, I'm used to those bozos at Roblox who can't make a game.

1) depends on your PC and/or internet connection

2)yes you can. your PC will run Blockland but probably not very good. get a new(er) one if/when possible

3)yes it is.

Wonderful.

Is there like a brick limit? Or is this just an open canvas with unlimited paint?

128000 is the limit. you can go higher, but other people wont be able to see them if your hosting a server.(i think)

it also depends on your computer.

What? He said Windows 98 thats compatible with like everything and ran amazingly, I'm sure Blockland would would run it.

Wonderful.

Pretty much. The limit is around 280,000 bricks or so, but I've heard of people breaking that limit somehow.

Your build has to be absolutely, impossibly massive to hit that limit.

Download the demo to test if you can run it. The graphics are highly customizable and you should be able to get it to run.

Considering the ever growing community, I'd say that it is awesome. It is worth it considering the [endless] amount of replay value.

There are laggy situations, but you can just move to another server(with a lower ping) or host your own(no lag yay). The server can and will crash, but not usually unless you are dealing with dangerous stuff(i.e new mods). I'm not sure about pauses, but if process-heavy actions are taken, you will experience delay.

By process-heavy action, I mean, more or less, spam. This can be resolved by an admin and live may return to normal.

So, download the demo. If you can run it moderately, you should be okay. Fool around with the graphical and advanced options until it runs smoothly. If you are sure you can run it well enough to enjoy it, then I'd say buy it. If not, look into getting a new computer/laptop.

Also, the demo only allows 150 bricks, while the full game allows 128,000(more if you glitch, but can cause crashes).

This is more than enough for almost anything. I've made large DMs in 1,000 bricks or less. If I used the entire limit, it would take hours to walk from end to end.

As another note, the amount of bricks can adversely effect the FPS, but turning down draw distance resolves this quickly.

The FPS manager pissed me off when I can't even see my own character. That doesn't happen, does it?

It's almost midnight here, I'll download it tomorrow. I'll screw around with the graphics to see what I can do.

My dream was to build an awesomely detailed cityscape... I can build some awesome stuff as some people have seen in Roblox. With all the awesome stuff I've seen in the Gallery and screenshots and from YouTube, I should fit right in.

And also, Lua works here, too?

Blockland uses a scripting language called TorqueScript, which is similar but not exact to LUA.

Goodie, more code for me to fail at learning at.

I was wondering around the Gallery forum and looking at others builds. How come nobody gets really detailed?

Do it.
1) Is there any slowness, like lag or pauses? Server crashes?
Yes, however they are usually caused by the host having a bad connection and you can see the ping before you join, the higher the more lag. Crashes occur occasionally, usually servers are stable.
2) Are the effects optional? Can you customize how good everything shows up? I run a Windows 98 and it has the worst graphics and graphics card ever.
Yes.

Yes.

You'll probably find TS much harder then Lua, too.

*finishes installation of Blockland*

Well, I'm going to crash for the night.

I still want my question answered before I go, though.  :cookieMonster:

How detailed are you thinking of?

Also, as far as people not getting detailed, they're lazy.

I don't get detailed because I try to keep brickcount smooth for smooth DMing.(I mostly make Deathmatches)
