Author Topic: Might be getting a PC for games... helps?  (Read 644 times)

So I was thinking about getting a PC to play games on, but I have been a mac user since I got my first mac when I have 13, and because of that I think I am less computer-savy than the average PC user.

So, I am not looking for anything that complicated (so I probably don't want to build it myself) but I am looking for something good and cheap. I spent 1 minute looking at best buy (only 1 minute because they only have one computer).
HP - Firebird 802 Desktop

Its pretty expensive and those specs don't look that great. I was also thinking about getting something off of eBay, bad idea?

Any input is appreciated.
Rex if you see this maybe you can help me build one? kthx

Meh just get what you think feels right, you'll probably want an nVidia card, probably 8800+, and I perfer intel processors. I also suggest, if you have spare money, alienware. If not, probably a dell or toshiba will do it.

EDIT: The firebird thing looks like it has pretty good specs, might wanna overclock the processor a bit though even if it is quad-core.

Yes. Anything you get on ebay will be secondhand crap. Even if it says 'new' in capitals.

I got a fairly decent computer off eBay, and it's worked well for me for over a year now, but be careful if you go that route.

That has got to be the weirdest computer I have ever seen.
