SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY
That is the ONLY anti-spyware software that I trust.
I use this
Obviously you did something to loose your parent's trust or they just don't trust you at all to be on the computer and they want to be those "Concerned Parents".
Nope, never did this. If they lost their trust with me they would probably take my computer out of my room, or at least my laptop.
You could try typing in something like "wfejiwejfiwoejf" then restarting your PC and searching for that in all your files and folders. Unless she's got it emailing in which case it requires an internet connection so whack Windows Firewall on and see if there are any curious exceptions for internet use.
Good idea :D I have access to her email so I doubt she'll get it to email her. Unless she keeps a secret email for the purposes of this.
That's not going to help if you have a keylogger, it'd still record all the new passwords. Try using the onscreen keybored when you type in new passwords, it should get past that.
And I doubt your parents would willingly install a keylogger on your computer... What site were you on?
On screen keyboard only protect against like one type of keylogger (I have a program on my computer to see how well your protected against keyloggers, and it still gets things from the on screen keyboard.)
And what site are you talking about?
Wow, if my parents really wanted to know my password for anything, they could just ask. Tell your mother to stop using very intrusive options of getting your personal information. She's your mother, just say "Mom, if you really wanted to know, you could just ask."
Or, she may just be playing mind games with you so that you are more careful about which sites you visit.
But definitely, run AVG 8.5 Free. It won't scan for rootkits (in 8 it did, but Avast are a bunch of handicapped jerks), but it will scan for keyloggers.
Like I trust her now with my passwords :D
I believe its mostly mind games. However I wish to be sure.
I've got AVG :D Sadly it doesn't work on my desktop for some reason, but it does on my laptop. Will run scan.
If you're using firefox there is an extension called KeyScrambler that will scramble your key strokes so software based key loggers can't read them. It will probably work well enough against whatever you think your parents are trying to use.
Thanks, I installed that.
One idea: anyone know of a prgram that can take a picture with my webcam every times someone logs in?
