Author Topic: Keyloggers and parents, OH MY!  (Read 5394 times)

Long ago my parents isntalled a keylogger on their computer in order to get my gmail password. I've changed it so now thats fine. However I fear they might have installed one on my computer; my mom kinda hinted to this fact.

How do I check if this stuff is here and how do I remove it?

Run some anti-keylogger software?  :cookieMonster:

Retaliate, hack their computer. If it's passworded decrypt the SAM file, get the password, log in, install keylogger, log off.

Where is she getting software like that? o_O

I can't imagine you buy something like that... could be malicious if she downloaded it somewhere.

You could always put a bois password on your computer, and a profile password on the Administrator account and yours. Hide your pronz lololololol.

sound like some great parents..

I have a BIOS password on my computer.

Maybe NOD32.I have that. Then scan the OS and all other files on PC.Sadly,It's not free, but it is worth the protection.

I'd be insulted if my parents did that to me.

Me too! Additionally, its a breach of privacy and installing malicious software on my system makes me want to kill her. What I want to know is if its really there. I've changed all my passwords, got a better firewall. What else can I do?

Scan with NOD32,and you can get rid of any viruses/keyloggers/malware/trojans/spyware/otherthingsthathurtyourcomputer

Other than that, not much.Maybe always log off when not using and use unguessable passwords.Try the anti-keylog password input:type the password in segments in random order.if you password was password, you might type:
pa

wo

ss

rd

But moving the cursor the the appropriate locations between letters.

Just make a fake Gmail account and use that for the time being.

Get a trial software like Kaspersky or AVG and run a scan.

Installing keyloggers:
  • Is a breach of privacy.
  • Records every keystroke and can and in most if not all cases will upload them to the internet
  • Allows more threats to overtake the system.

Basically it forgets you over every which way. Your mother is an idiot and is over protective.

1. No stuff
2. False
3. False

Spyware coupled with a keylogger will do that, but a keylogger itself does nothing more than record keystrokes.
