Author Topic: All of the newer TV shoes have black bars. Why?  (Read 1498 times)

Right now I'm watching Chowder and I see black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. I've also seen this on Family Guy, American Dad, and The Simpsons. Why do they do it? Does it increase the quality at all? Is it just my TV?

It's probably because their in HD.  I noticed this with KOTH.

It's called widescreen.

That or he's watching it on a standard screen and it's supposed to be widescreen.

I thought the topic was about a brand of shoes called TV and that the new ones have black stripes

Laughing uncontrollably.

I hate standard frame, unless it's made that way from the beginning.
