Author Topic: Port Fowarding: Not Working Even Though I Know I did It Right  (Read 875 times)

Today, I went on www.portforwarding.com and found my router.  Then, i used the directions to forward my ports.http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Actiontec/MI-424-WR/Blockland.htm  I am 100% sure I did it right.
The Ping Diagnostic Tool didn't say anything about the server not working.  WHy it not work?

i haz the same prob what kind of internet you use ex:comcast (don't really know if they make internet

Well, I have Verizon and my router is an Actiontec MI-424-WR.  It was supprisingly easy but I wonder why it does not work :/

have you done both tcp and udp? also you should try restarting your router.

i has verizon to i didn't see all the stuff badspot said in the port fowording touruial is that the same prob

Well, if you did it right, you would be able to host.

Your ISP may have some security that would make you unable to host. That's supposedly what happened to me at one point.

probly the problem is that blockland is not a real word so it wont accept it

Not even close. I have no words that could be used to describe how wrong this is.

I made ping diagnostic and I know it sucks and is broken. However if it's telling you that your server is working, then it's an add-on or something.

I remember that thing...
"I KNOW MY loving SERVER ISN'T ONLINE! I'M ON A loving SINGLEPLAYER SERVER!"

So it didn't say anything about it not working? Did it say anything at all?

i haz 1 question does the port forward message always come up

It didn't say anything on the screen :/

Note: Verizon hates when people host using their service. (Includes DSL, FiOS, and sometimes EVDO.)

I think it is important to remind everyone that in most instances you need to do more than port forward to host, despite the fact that port forwarding is a very important part. Look into configuring your computer/router connection in a way such that it lets traffic through efficiently.

Make sure you have it enabled.
