For once, the internet does something genuinely good by keeping these folk aware of the world outside their doorsteps.

I've read in a few articles and it seems the internet was a major contributor to the awareness. It isn't definitive, but it makes sense since it's an easy hub to the outside world, and you can bet there's allot less propaganda floating around on the net then in Iran's media for instance.

So these young folk learned about outside happenings and stuff, and they probably became aware of outside human rights and a few other issues about their own country (inside and in international relationships), and they set out to change things. If Iran had no internet at all it would probably not have happened.

WTF national socialist on sign?
They're labeling the iranian president as Riddler.

and iran, iran so far away

You know, during the election, the media didn't give a stuff.
Now it's all that's being talked about.

I think Heinrich Himmler would be upset that Ahmadinejad is wearing his SS tunic.

i saw some protesters in Minneapolis. they didnt have any cool signs :(

Wearing a nation's flag like that is a violation of flag etiquette and, by extension, a disrespect to Iran. Shame on the two of them.
