Author Topic: TBM has no viruses...  (Read 1957 times)

I did three scans of blockland and tbm, with 2 different top-of-the-line anti-virus programs, Norton AV 2006 and McAfe. Both scans showed no viruses, nor any trace of as much as a "potentially unwanted program". I will post the results here with a graph to interperate the data.

There may be "exploits" but they can't do anything to your computer outside of tbm. otherwise, they would have been detected. Now, i haved made some rather bogus claims against badspot, and i apologize, again, for that. however i do believe (and you can run these scans yourself) that the current version of tbm does not contain any harmful files. If anyone wishes to challenge me, go right ahead and submit your proof

The way TBM is designed makes it exponentially easier for hackers to get into your computer.

Not saying I don't like TBM, but before they rereleased it, you could go in the code and find the actual "exploit" or "virus". Nothing in badspot's warning says TBM will kill your computer, only that it may harm your blockland.

hey you got my bathroom map ><

1. There are no exploits in TBM.
2. TBM isn't going to be allowed here regardless since BS has personal issues with its creators.
3. TBM is dying anyways, and its users are following another project.

We've been over this 100 times.

TBM contained an intentional back door that allows anyone who knows about it to upload and execute any script to anyone who installed both tbm and aio.  In addition, specific code was added for the sole purpose of disrupting a particular user's server.  Laymen often refer to any malicious code such as that present in TBM as a "virus"

The facts of the exploit are not in dispute.  They were confirmed by the developers of the exploit as well as by outside experts from the Garage Games community.

End of discussion.
