The XP computer is hooked up to the internet whereas this Vista one is wireless, and even though all the necessary lights on the router and modem are on, we have like 1 of 5 bars, the internet problem started with sites not loading and eventually saying "Page Load Error", and you gotta reload, re-enter the site address and/or hit the Try Again button to make it load again, we tried updating the router several months ago, didn't help, and eventually the Vista computer's internet kept going from 4 of 5 bars, to 3 of 5, then 2 of 5 and now 1 of 5! Videos and sites load slow, and trying to start up Steam is a pain, when i tried playing Synergy with 2 of 5 bars, i had about 900 ping at times, and i tried opening up Steam just now and it kept freezing up trying to load up the store and the store update window, so i forgot about it, but Blockland seems to work though

Why is this happening? And does it matter that the Vista computer is further from the router and modem being that they're on the first apartment and the Vista computer is on the second apartment?

Don't use wired and wireless together, it's a bad idea.

Are you sure that could be one of the problems?

I had it like that, but then the connections just sucked for everything BUT the wired one.

I forgot about this topic ._.

My brother has a wireless connection too, but he has 4-5 bars 99% of the time, 1% of the time it's 3 bars, he says it may be something interfering with the wireless connection, but he's not sure what

hardware isnt all the same. his computer's antenna could just be better.
or he could be using an N wireless instead of your G wireless.
or there could be lead paint on the walls in your room.
