I agree with you about your other points, but I disagree about the attention and wanting everyone to accept them. I believe this thread was for constructive criticism, such as not blurting out that he's a furcigarette that needs to die. How hard is it not to post and say that? I have to point out, nearly everyone doesn't like to be called creepy at all.
Now you're speaking my language. Excellent.
The thread itself is a very visible gesture for attention, look at the OP for one. The giant text and many warnings and threats to people that might have a bad say in things told everyone immediately that he knew what would happen, he was fully expecting it. I did not see such a huge warning in any of his other threads.
You can then say he is right to give warnings to people, given the fact that people don't think kindly of furry art. Too true, but if he already knew full well what was going to happen and that people would probably not give him criticism and respect, he would likely not have posted this here at all to avoid the whole mess.
His extremely fast retaliations to most of the comments he didn't like is also further proof that he knew it was going to happen. His retaliations also came with quite a bit more force later on.
So from everything I've read and interpreted, the thread itself is indeed an Attention grabber, and it has now turned into some sort of crusade to convert everyone to what he wants them to think. The beginning intent of the thread was the combination of both.
The psychological proceedings in furries is confusing for obvious reasons, but it becomes fairly intuitive. For one, furries love to find others that have the same special interest as they do. They tend to huddle up, you can see this quite frequently whenever someone bashes a furry and a good group of furries swoops in to flame whoever it is into submission. This goes further to the desire of being universally accepted, basically like a recruitment drive.
It is true that people don't like it when people denounce they're creepy, but they come to terms with the fact that it's the reality we live in. People might not like you, they'll denounce this as well, it will happen, but the attackee in question will usually not take retalitions very far. They'll concede that the assaillant in question is an idiot maybe, it's their own opinion, and they'll move on to other things.
Furries take it too far, compare this thread to other "backfired" threads as an example. That's kind of the whole issue with furry-ism, the drama it entails is massive, if you bash them on sight the entire place goes off in a flamewar over literally nothing, or leave them alone and it's a ticking timebomb. Either way, furries tend to forget everything up, and it doesn't require much to set them off. You might say it's generalization but personally, if I had a dime for every time I saw this kind of stuff, well you get the idea. You can chose to believe me or not, but please accept the fact that this is what I think as I in turn accept the fact that you might think I'm full of stuff. Then we'll be cool.
I'm not a furry rant
You sure do act like one in spirit though
