ACT v. SAT

For all of you old enough to have taken the SATs or ACTs, I was just wondering which one you had taken.

I toke the SATs, and I hated them. Long, tedious, and stupid time frame. Its funny, many schools don't care for them that much.

ACTs are the same, but I like them a lot better. They have English, math, reading, science, and writing. They math is easy, but the science part is tedious, along with the reading.

So, what do you guys think.

If you haven't taken it, what tests are taken the most in your area?

ACT is better unless you plan to go to an east coast school.  Of course, most schools take both.  Either way, it's a long ass test and both suck.

I took the ACT because you don't have to take the written section :P I also took the SAT in 7th grade before they added a written section. I'd say go with ACT, and take the written part because I couldn't apply to one of my colleges because of that.

Good plan. I was like "eww essay" then I realized it was only 30 mins, so I was like why not. Funnily enough, the one school I want, WPI, doesn't want the essay, but most do.

I had to take the ACT and I hate it. But that's because I find that a speed test cannot determine your intelligence. I've always been a slow test taker. It loving sucks, all honors classes passing with at least B's and I can't get better than a 21 on the ACT.

I took both of them once. Made about the same on each. 29 and 1290. ACT had harder science, and easy as hell reading.
