Author Topic: Linux and Blockland  (Read 941 times)

I hate how bad Blockland is with Wine. I find this funny, what is the roadblock with a Blockland for Linux? Mac is from Unix, and so is Linux, in fact Torque can be compiled on Linux. It wouldn't be too hard for a Linux version if there is already a Mac version.

What is wrong with it on wine?  I've managed to get along without many really annoying problems.

Although a Linux version would be nice; I've never had any problems running on wine. I found it actually ran better from my experiences.

So you've done something wrong.

One of the most annoying things is the god damn add-ons listing is forgeted up.

Trader was able to run bl with wine much faster than in windows. I couldn't get it to work well in wine but I suspect it's because I never installed a graphics card driver xD

The first thing I noticed when I played BL on linux was that it was so smooth!

All I did:

Download Blockland from the site.
Activate.
Go into single player.
It lags like nuts.
If I adjust the quality settings and press apply, it makes the whole window manage explode.

It's probably because I'm using the open source driver. I can't get the non-open source one as ATI has retired my card. It's an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. 128 MB Video memory.

...and I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit.
Ask for specs, I will give them.
