Author Topic: Upraising computer problem?  (Read 1029 times)

About maybe a week ago my computer start making a hellish load buzzing noise, like the noise when you go to make a large movie file. At first I thought I was just running something that took a lot of power but its been doing it more often, in fact I've turned on my computer about 14 minutes ago and its still doing it, is this going to become a problem?

NOTE: Overall performance has not been changed, its running the same speed, its just that I'm worried that somethings is about to snap.

Its the service fan.

Fixed: I just had to clean out my fan from dust, works fine now. locking

This makes it sound like an issue with your hard drive. It may be taking a stuff on you.

I went to restart the computer, I think I know whats wrong now

it said "SYSTEM SERVICE FAN FAILED"

So this means a fan is dead huh?

maby that nosie also happens when you turn off the pc but leave the power strip on for too long ( if you connect the pc power thingy to a power strip )

OK then, you made it sound like it was making the noise a hard drive does when it has to read/write a crap ton of data at once.

im pretty shure thats what it maens, the service fans grate needs weekly cleaning or else the fan will eventually stop. dust = bad for computers.

But If I'm getting this message it generally means the fan is forgeted and I'll need a new one?

if it is, you'll need to get the fan  replaced.

If I listen carefully I can hear it spinning, sometimes it sounds like it gets cought in something and slows down then the sound gets low, speeds up again and the sound gets loud again.

double post, ok from what I have read around from the net I need to clean out my fan and heatsink before it breaks or even catches fire, but I don't know how to clean it (or take it apart) can someone link me to instructions on how to or tell me?
