Whats with the dumbasses that say "mac is better for design and stuff" as if you can't run photoshop and loads of other programs on windows? Also mac's are gigantic loving rip off's, I saw a $400 laptop with twice the specs of a $1,600 macbook. Seriously?

how do some kids think that macs have an advantage with "graphic" apps?
any computer can have a stuffload of ram and hardrive. hardly an OS difference.

but PC's have much much MUCHHHHH superior video hardware. macs have always been like 2 years behind at all times there. and that difference grows all the time.

plus who the forget spends so much time loving with pictures on photo shop that its the only need you have for a computer?

You can't argue a side in this discussion if you haven't used both for a long time. I've used both for several years, and while I prefer the general interface of a Mac, I don't hate Windows either. And I won't say Macs aren't pricey.

eh... idk... a photographer... maybe a graphic designer... doesn't mean they need a mac... but that is what they need a computer for. ha.


I use mac. I don't think it's better, I just grew up using it (don't flame my parents, forgeters) and am comfortable with it. It fits my purposes. If the time comes when I need a Windows machine, I'll get one.

Until then I'm content on being an elitist fanboy :)

If you want to know which OS is better, than why are you saying 'No' When people say something other than Mac. I'm not sure, because I've only ever used Windows. But get the (wrong answer, Right answer, Very wrong answer) stuff off, It doesn't change peoples opinions.

Here's my opinion:
Mac - Yeah, it's cool for just playing around, with music or graphic or such.
PC - It's awesome for gaming, and it's quite comfortable.
Linux - Very nice, if you're going to host servers and such things, but not suggested for gaming.

I've tried a WIndows, grew up with it, and Mac, in school some classes have macs others have pcs. I prefer PC (I hate calling it this because meaning personal computer, Macs and other stuff would be Pcs aswell) mostly because I'm more comfortable with it, I hate the Mac interface; dashboard, the tool bar thing at the top, and also the general look of it.

I also love how those Mac>Windows commercial only show the bad sides of Windows rather than the bad of Macs. And the fact they only appeal to an audience who are to stupid to realise being a nerd is a good thing, nerds rule the world.

Explain why. I don't mind mac and have used it a lot in the past, but I hear this point a lot with no real evidence, so I'm calling bullstuff. Prove me wrong.

Mac is based on Unix, which is what Linux is based off of. It's generally a stable system, and can call data quickly. Therefore, it can access smaller amounts of RAM quickly, and use the Hard Drive with low latency.
It also has good low-priced video editing.

Windows Vista has no widely-distributed mainframe, and nobody's really sure how it works or how it processes data. It needs more RAM than XP and 7, which will be released later this year or so, and it calls that data slower than 7. Vista also uses a large amount of space for logs, which takes a good portion of even my 4GB RAM to write.

I'm not saying all of Windows is bad at video editing. Windows 7 might get my attention enough to switch back over completely, because at this time, I have both operating systems, and two laptops.
