Don't tell badspot but
I posted it here to avoid that
Like it matters. Really, the HELP board is the last place to go to get it.

Well then.

I HAD the same problem, but I fixed it like so:

Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Human Interface Devices -> Microsoft eHome Infared Transciever
^ uninstall that

Note: It reinstalls everytime you reboot the computer, so it can get troublesome...

I am 100% sure without a doubt this is how you fix it.
You're just doing it wrong.

maybe his computer doesnt have that device to uninstall.  Just let him update his graphics drivers first before we start uninstalling random stuff.

It does have that to uninstall, because it's the same exact computer I have. This has nothing to do with graphics drivers either, and it's not "random stuff."

You, my good friend, just won an internet.

All of my keys are now working perfectly.

Can't thank you enough.

i dont have that for some reason. i only have one item under "human interface devices"

Turns out this problematic driver reinstalls itself every time I start up my computer. Any way to make it not do that?

Huzzah I'm an idiot
