Okay, so I assume the notepad I am supposed to download is the one with the geccko as its logo. Which is Notepad++.(Please tell me if this is wrong in your reply.) When I open notepad++(didnt save the file yet) I get these "Ansi" and "unicode" folders. Any help on an easy way to open it and use it?

Also, I downloaded the newest version from sourceforge.net. The file is npp.5.4.4.bin and it is zipped.

Why are you downloading a Notepad, if you have a PC, it comes with it. O-o

Okay, it does have notepad, nvm, but I know Im supposed to save it as a .cs, so what exactly is cs, because all I see is Ansi and unicode, and text. what should I save it as?

Scripting is harder than it seems. Do you have any experience with any coding languages?

Mind as well start now. But that doesnt really answer my question about the cs thing. Also I have a new question. What is the very first command I should put in a script?

When saving, go to file -> save as, as normal.
Where it says text files open the dropdown menu and select all files.
Enter a name for the file, and put .cs after it.
You just made a .cs file.

That is Ansi and Unicode.

That is not what you want, it is a Blockland Source file thats encoded in dso, and it comes out in complete gibberish, go to add-ons, and open a server.cs file there.

okay, i have n notepad, it works fine, i found it on "run" on the start menu, nut i just need to know: What is the first command I should put in a script, or does it matter?

No, it doesn't matter, but if you have no scripting knowledge whatsoever, then start by looking at already made add-ons and doing edits here and there to get a feel for Torque Script.

If you mess it up just redownload it, or keep the original stored somewhere.
Edit: Oh, and do not release your test add-ons. Release something once you know it has good quality.
