Author Topic: Saves missing after computer crash  (Read 650 times)

My computer crashed for a couple of weeks ago, so we removed the hard drive with everything still on it (It wasn't the hard drive which crashed) and sent the computer for repair. However, when I got it back I realised that my .bls files were missing from the folder, and in game too. I've had that problem with vista before, but then found a button named Compability Files in the BL saves folder, which took me to the saves. Only the saves saved after V9 goes to Compability Files, the V8 stays in the folder. Now the Compability Files button is gone.

The hard drive has been protected from magnets and stuff.
Have anyone else had this problem?

I had a similar problem when I installed RTB and moved my Blockland folder to C: . I had backed up elsewhere a few times on this PC, but all my old saves appear to be missing as I am unable to click that button where I used to. Searching my computer also ends up with nothing.

I don't know what the direct cause of it could have been, because my backup folders were dragged away from any contact with the main Blockland folder. So I assume they should exist in some form, but I can't seem to find even the smallest hint that they still exist anymore.

I found mine, thank god.

[My name]>AppData (this folder is hidden and you need to change folder options to view hidden folders to see it) > Local> VirtualStore >ProgramFiles > Blockland > Saves

I knew they couldn't have been deleted. I don't know why the compatibility files thing is gone. I'm going to also PM this to you just in case because I know how freaked out I was when I thought I lost my saves.

one time i lost my add ons folder , so i redownloaded blockland , but when i redownloaded it , it destroyed all of my information and made it new , i was pissed but i survived

If you have Vista I suggest trying to look where I found my stuff. This saved a bunch of stuff I was sure were gone.
