the only reason people eat cows is because back in the day they were very easy to catch and keep. and gave plenty of meat.
any animal could have been mass farmed.

horse is thousand times tastier then a loving lame cow
i plan to eat cat someday

I think the way cows and other animals are slaughtered is just as cruel. free range food is ok, as long as let you let the animal have a happy life and thank it for the food it has provided, it's all ok.
