I did some research and I've found their website and a person's opinion of it.

If you want a brief information about them, they're hackers who think that the security is bad.

This is why I use Flickr/Tinypic.

So, the hackers think security is bad? Well, for them it is.

You don't get it.
Let me explain.
These sites tell users that their site is more secure, to scare them into paying for their site instead. The hackers don't like this kind of thing and hacked their phoney security to show everyone that their security is bullstuff and they were ripping you off. They also want to take down the site.

Why would they do this to Imageshack?

They have a #irc also:

It's called: #bantown. I'm not really sure if it's on or not, because it's from 2006.

Tom

To gain popularity.

If you could get many hosted images to say whatever you want, you would probably do it.

There are currently 4 users at the IRC, it was labeled "jews did wtc".

You gave us the channel, but not the server. Lern2irc.

I kind of tl;dr'd the image. My computer couldn't even load the whole thing

This.
Why would they take up a slot that's already taken ;o? Wouldnt it be easier just to hack the site and overlay their image instead of yours? It seems thats what it's doing with the No images were harmed at the bottom.
You don't understand how imageshack works with a unregistered account.

Why the forget do you have to do this stuff and make other people's lives difficult?

Telling people they are getting scammed by a website is making people's lives difficult?

I really don't understand why anyone would use Imageshack and not Photobucket. Photobucket is so much better, from photo quality to organization.

This is why I prefer Photobucket.

Images hack!  Coincidence?  I think not!
