-Story Snip-
This reminded me of a sort of 'Zombie' based story. I hope that was what you were going for. If so, well done.
Heres Chapter 2 of one of my stories. I shan't post Chapter 1, because it has too much talk, and not enough action;
Surviving
Chapter 2; First, Sleep.
It was roughly 6:00 am; James was waking Andrew up slowly. “Andrew...Psst...Andrew, wake up... It’s important” Whispered James. “Huh, yeah...wait, what?” came the grumbled reply. “Its one of them, its outside, we can hear it... It doesn’t sound...normal... anyways, it’s hurt, at least.” Answered James, his face confused, Just by this Andrew knew it must be important. James had always been the sort to take lead; he knew what was going on most of the time, despite the un-natural circumstances. “Yeah, Yeah... I’ll take a look” Andrew said. As Andrew stood up, he noticed the room was dark, too dark to be in the morning. As he continued to get out of the sleeping-bag, he spotted Kate; she was stood up and was wearing a Green track-suit top. She was also extremely quiet, which could be normal considering the past events, but even so, she was normally chatty in the mornings, before they set off. As Andrew walked through the small medical room, he noticed some peculiarities, the broken clock was in the wrong places, the dressing table had a pillow upon it, and the room had gained a window during the course of the night. “He’s over here, see. Just behind this window” Called James, “Here, take the bat” Andrew grabbed the Cricket-bat passed to him. As he slowly crept towards the window, where James was already standing, he lifted the bat behind his head in a swooping motion. “Come on, Right here.” continued James. Andrew kept on moving towards the Clean, white, square window. Tensing his muscles as he pulled on the bat, ready to swing. “Hey, come on. Its right here just look!” Shouted James, as he peered over the window frame. Andrew got even closer, with the Cricket-Bat held tighter, approaching the Window and James. “Come on now, LOOK!” Ordered James, shouting at the top of his voice, “Look Now!!!” Andrew then released the tension in his arm, and let the Bat swing, smashing into James’ head, but just before Andrew could see anything, his vision went black. Andrew suddenly shot up from his Sleeping-bag. The blackness slowly ebbed away, to a still dark room. “Andrew, are you okay?” asked James. “James! Good god, it was just a dream...wait, not a dream... It’s a night-screamer” Replied Andrew. “A night-screamer! Damn, I thought we had seen the last of those. I’m sorry I didn’t notice you earlier” answered James “But you must have fought it off fast, for me to have not noticed it” “Yeah, But its gotta be near by” acknowledged Andrew. Andrew headed over to where the window was in his dream. He tapped the wall gently, it was hollow. “Do you remember there being another room here?” Asked Andrew “No” Came the response. “Ok, get ready to knock anything back, that comes this way, and, is there anything to cover this wall once were done?” Asked Andrew “Yeah, there are two more desks, and, I guess we can use the bed to block it up a bit” Replied James, hoping that nothing too serious was behind the wall. “Ok, 1, 2, 3, GO!” Smash, Andrew broke through the wall with the bat, Ply-wall flew everywhere. On the other side was a small dark room, probably a design error. It had a single small hole in the wall, capable of letting in a small creature, which, happened to be sitting in the corner. The Night-Screamer, a small creature, with no physical strengths. It was one of the first infected creatures to be recognized. What was once a large cat was now this horribly disfigure thing. Its body was covered in buboes and leaked puss. It was previously covered in fur, but was now covered in scabs and cuts. The creature winced as the Bat was swung towards it, but it made no difference. It was dead. Andrew nearly vomited as he hit the creature; his bat had hit one of its larger most buboes. Puss exploded almost everywhere; the wall was covered, except for a near Cat-Shaped silhouette. “Ugh, that’s just... that’s just...Ugh!” Stuttered James, his legs covered in the yellow sick slime. “That is the last time I ever go to sleep” retorted Andrew. “Sick, Sick, Sick” continued James.
The two had managed to clean themselves down, after blocking the wall which they had smashed. Surprisingly, Kate was still asleep; nothing short of an explosion could wake her from her sleep. “We sure were lucky tonight” James said, proudly. “This night... Wait, what’s the time?”Replied Andrew. “Well, its only 11:45, you’ve only been asleep for half an hour” answered James. “Well, I definitely don’t feel like sleeping now. You go ahead, I’ll keep look out for you, I’ll be there in a flash to wake you if anything occurs, Good Luck” James crept towards the Sleeping-bag, yawning. “Goodnight, ha, see you in the morning” and soon after, he was back in the dangers of dream. Luckily nothing would come near tonight, at least not another Night-Screamer, the puss from the last one would deter most creature based infected away from there, and the group hadn’t seen any other ones in over a week. As Andrew sat down next to the still simmering fire, he thought about how lucky he had actually been, if that Night-Screamer had continued, and he hadn’t killed the ‘Fake James’ and Then seen the creature behind the window, he would have been killed, for once you see the hidden creature in all the Terrors produced by the Night-Screamers, your brain was brutally killed, in the one place it had to relax, Sleep.
There we go, That should do. And luckily I have unlocked my Microsoft Works Word 2007, so I can continue writing it :D There are problems with it too, like the speach. It's not written out in, well, Novel-istically. If ya know what I mean. So, reading it may be kinda screwed up. Any Ideas for it will be appreciated too.
Edit; Please, Don't steal it as well, I know it's not much, but I don't want people o stteal it and take credit for it. It's going towards a whole story, so, just don't >:(
