Author Topic: A boil on my thumb?  (Read 5150 times)

my thumb kept itching and I saw a clear bubble of skin embedded in my thumb. So I get bored and decided to pop it. I popped it with a very sharp pencil is had laying around and the boil popped and some kind of watery clear liquid came out (mostly water). It hurt alot for a few minutes but then it went away. It still hurts if I touch it, and the skin is still bubblish and has a grey mark on it from when i popped it with a pencil.

Tell me what it might be.

blister? wort? a burn?

A blister is a small pocket of fluid within the upper layers of the skin, typically caused by forceful rubbing (friction), burning, freezing, chemical exposure or infection. Most blisters are filled with a clear fluid called serum or plasma (aka, "blister water"). However, blisters can be filled with blood (known as blood blisters) or with pus (if they become infected).

Those were some funny pictures/videos in the compilation.

Any reason for the random video post?

At the moment, I'm having an allergic reaction to something, so my fingers are forming several tiny blisters all over them. I must have ingested pork or some place I ate at had pork as a byproduct. Beats me. last time my hands did that, I nearly lost growth in two of my fingernails. :(
