Author Topic: Rising/ Setting Sun  (Read 2739 times)

Ok so I have this map and I added a fxSunlight object to it and I tweaked it to my liking where it went around at just the right speed, but I don't know how to make it so actual light comes and goes.

I don't think it's possible with the engine right now, unless you used a dynamic light, or something, I haven't really explored the possibilities.

Ok... Anyone else, just step right up.

Answer is simple, Mission Editor, change you need to make it night  :cookieMonster:
No, actually i think its possible, screw around until you get it.

Sorry for a bump but I like to help people. :)

Here this is how I got mine to work in TGEA, There is probably no difference from TGE and TGEA rising and setting anyways here you go.

Go to inspector and to the fxsunlight

Pretty much copy everything except the AzimuthTime and ElevationTime, make them 1-9000 the lower, the higher it will rise and fall.
Mine is still glitchy but it's the best I have. :)

Let me know if it works.

Also note that no shadows in the map will change.

Yes, there is, it might be one of those features which is either completely broken, or missing because Badspot knows it's completely broken.

Tom

Hes not talking about the real sun light - not the FXsun.

Animated Sky + Changing Light = win?

Lern what you're talking about? >:O

Ideaideaideaidea!

You know RGB light? You make something like that that is REALLY big and you make it change day to night. It would have 4 lights. Dawn, Day, Dusk, Dark.

Im pretty sure its impossible to animate the actual sun that lights the mission... So you can only do the sunLightfx, and Oasis I alreay told you how to do it...

Cant you change the sun color and the sky?

If you're talking about day/night shifts then its not possible, only the sun revolving around the mission is possible.

as far as i know, if you wanted it to actually be dark at night, changes to the engine would have to be made as well as the map and an extra script
