Once you've downloaded the shapes and other files from that server, you never have to again. It's usermade content you're downloading from these servers.

The stuff you are loading is Usermade Like Chrono said, All download the first day or two will be like 5-10 mins, It is worth the wait, After that most downloads are a minute or so. It all depends on the stuff you downloaded already and how much add-ons that the host put in the server, Which is still Usermade content.

Go to Options -> Network and disable all the downloads options.

You can also download most of the really popular stuff that most servers would have so you won't have to load it when you join the server.

its a good thing you play blockland now instead of roblox. it may cost money but you can never lose your acount, its not nearly as laggy as roblox, and has more building space, not to mention event scripting wich is rly fun if you know what your doing. it dosent take very long to master this game. the only thing roblox has that this dosent have is places stay 4ever on roblox and never get deleted where as BL just has servers yay random crap is fun!!!!!!!!! dont say anything

roblox isn't as laggy as blockland depending on wich level you are on, also the charachter sutomization on roblox way surpasses blockland, BUT the main selling point of blockland over roblox is that blockland dont have annoying meshes such as wedges (they have wedges in bl) but they arnt just a block with half of it transparent  :)
