Author Topic: Wii disc drive is busted.  (Read 2235 times)

I was playing Rockband 2 online, the person picked "Get Clean", and when the difficulty screen was loading, a Disc error popped up, saying to remove the disc, and try playing it again.
After numerous times of trying, I tried a perfectly clean game disc. It didn't work, so now I have two options.
1. Open the Wii, and void the dead warranty.
2. Send it to Nintendo to fix it for $75 (excluding tax, shipping, and other taxes).

tl;dr for the idiots: My Wii broke and I'm wondering what the hell to do.

put a credit card in it so you can bribe it to fix itself.

buy new game before you take it apart it may be the game

Do cocain.

good idea but it might be the next-gen error..you know the one that was on the xbox 360s.

This happened to me a while back. If I remember correctly there isn't much you can do to fix it yourself. I sent it to Nintendo, and it was shipped back a few days later. So far it has worked fine.

You fool. I said I tried a perfectly clean disc. Same error.

if you know someone thats good around this kind of stuff i suggest asking them. but if you dont then there are some 75 bucks that are going to serve you well if you play your wii a lot

Try some canned air in the drive

Wait, what?
canned air you know the stuff that you shake and blows cold air

You fool. I said I tried a perfectly clean disc. Same error.
but what about scraches all it takes is a little tiny one to mess up the game

It doesn't have to do with the game.

See if you can fix it on your own, first. If it fails, you might need to spend money.
And what's amazing is, my Wii dropped from 3 feet, at least twice, and still works perfectly.
