Author Topic: Blockland would work on Steam  (Read 2258 times)

I got this during Men of War (Only $8 for this weekend only btw). I don't know anything else that would make Blockland unable to be on Steam.

Discuss:

isn't steam a engine so if it is then tourque would have to be compatible , but i really dont know

I don't remember the exact reason why it's not possible, but I think it was something to do with money...

/facepalm

Steam is a way to buy games, it doesn't matter what engine it uses.

your right,
i think it has something to do with steam wanting a share of the money.....
like 10$ out of each 20$ dollars paid for blockland,
maybea not : P

It would also have to do with Garagegames getting some money. I already heard Garagegames gets around $5. Putting it on steam makes Badspot get about only $3

thats also true,
garagegames are cheapskates!

But the sales would increase so much, the loss of profit wouldn't matter, right?

Noone but Badspot knows.

I'm pretty sure garage games gets no money. I thought they advertised no royalties as part of the reason to buy their engine. It's a one time fee. If you make over 250k you have to buy a commercial license but it's still a one time fee.

Yeah, you really DON'T know.

Honestly, it'd be a great way for income, but then we'd have millions of people running around.

I first suggest a force-play Tutorial upon download and a force-change name, so no one goes around servers spamming "HOW DO I PLAY" or with "Blockhead135289".

From what I heard from my 3D art teacher, he said Steam likes to eat at the % of the profits. Badspot would more then likely be better off with word of mouth then Steam eating at his profits, which mind you aren't a heap per copy.

Excellent Idea is excellent. :/

I don't want to play through the tutorial for every new ID I get D:

Social media is the best way to get this game out, Common grounds is: This game is allready famous enough.
I'm pretty sure not all indie games get randomly sighted on television.
