Author Topic: My Computer Died.  (Read 2154 times)

So, I was playing tf2 and the power went out.  When it came back on I tried turning on my computer, which was plugged into a surge protector mind you, and it would not turn on.  Turns out my power supply is blown and I have to get a new one, so it will probably be a week before I get on again.

Damn, that really sucks. I had a power surge that knocked out half of our appliances, but my computer was fine.

I know, and the only thing that was affected was my computer, nothing else.  I am just hoping that nothing on the motherboad went with the power supply.

Your steam games are saved to your account, so if your computer was wiped clean, your games can be reinstalled, even the ones not on disc.

Because CPU = power supply.

If you tried to turn it on and they weren't, they are now fried. (Er wait...)

Nvmd, if the PC was on when it happened, the mobo is fried, if you tried to run a good cpu/gpu/ram on a fried motherboard they will be fried.

Yes it has happened to me.

Edit:

How do you think people build PCs...

Ran some more tests, and one of the wires coming from the power supply has been damaged.  That is why the power button on the pc isn't responding.

Where are you getting this bullstuff?!  I've tried running my PC with a fried motherboard, none of the other parts are fried!

Do... you you guys believe in reincarnation? Because i just got my new computer today  :O

As long as my video card and Hard Drive both survived, I am happy.

I'd be pretty pissed if anything in the computer I assembled fried. Most of the parts were very expensive.
