Silver Lake, MI. Home to the massive Silver Lake sand dunes, where you can off-road in the dunes.

Did we offroad? Yes.
With? A rental jeep.
Was it fun? No.

The jeep was a stock jeep with the tires deflated for traction and the carpet ripped out. It wasn't worth any amount of money we spent renting it. Would have got ATVs but I don't have my license. My father tells us stories about when he was 18-20 they built sand rails and tore up the dunes. Goddamnit, way to build hype for nothing. Keeping in mind that was the thing I was looking forward to the most (more like the only thing), the whole trip sucked. Went there, went out on the dunes, was throughly disappointed, then went sight seeing (Captain Yuki McNegative hates sightseeing) (loving light houses). We then drove 2 hours to Traverse City to do go to vineyards to taste wine. I'm underage, and so is my brother, so my parents DRAGGED us along to go sit in a hotel room/car while they tasted wine. We then rode in the car for 5 and a half hours to get home. With the money we spent on the vacation, I would be a hundred times happier if they bought me a bottle of mountain dew and some chips. Doesn't take something expensive and complicated to make me happy.

Summary: Hate vacationing with my family, never have to do it again, but I am going back to Silver Lake, with friends and some REAL off-road vehicles.
PROTIP: Don't rent.
Oh and the day we left some girl told me she likes me so instead of talking to her I did all of that. Great.

Oh and the day we left some girl told me she likes me..
Was she hot?

Was she hot?
Yes.

It would be key to mention that this means the day we left for vacation, not the day we left to go home.

Oh, I was about to lol :\

So yeah, I'll take your protip if I ever decide to go to Silver Lake.

Did you tell the chick that you were about to go on vacation so she doesn't think you're weirded out by her and are avoiding her?

Do the bold.

If there's anything I hate it's my family ruining vacations by filling it with boring stuff like sight seeing or driving 3 hours around the loving grand canyon just for another angle viewing.

I know exactly what you mean, because I've had to do that too.

I texted her, so everything's cool.

One of the times I went camping this summer, I went to Pismo Beach and they have this huge dunes area and it was so loving epic. Rented a couple of ATV's and went out into the middle of the dunes and it was so big and awesome and it felt like I was all alone on like tatooine or soemthing... until my brother's atv broke down and we spent 10 minutes trying to fix it as the wind picked up so it was like a sand storm. But even then it was fun, just the whole alien planet feel of it all (plus the outfit and helmet I was wearing felt like a light spacesuit)
I loved it... sorry to hear that your experiance sucked.

I hate going on vacations, I'm no happier than I am when I am at home. My parents recently dragged me down to Virginia Beach for a week and it was horrible, I was "Captain Littledude McNegative" the whole trip. All I wanted to do was sit on my Laptop in the hotel room and play some Warcraft 3.

Atleast you got to do SOMETHING.

When i go on Vacation, i never get to do anything because of my brother.

If you had to pay for the vacation, I could see why you'd be upset. But since I'm guessing you didn't contribute one cent outside of personal needs, you don't have the right to be whining.

Would you shut the forget up already? It's not like everyone on this forum is 28 years old and living by themselves. Way to be an arrogant prick.
