Author Topic: Ping is dead?  (Read 2558 times)

I FINALLY figured out how to port forward Blockland on my router and have ensured that I did it correctly. I set up everything correctly, but when running a dedicated server, the ping is still dead as if the ports are wrong. What am I doing wrong here?

Did you set up a static IP address?

Did you set up a static IP address?
What do you mean? My IP already is static, it's not dynamic.

So you can run a listen server fine?

Are you sure you are Querying LAN servers when trying to connect.

Hm...I thought mostly everyone here paid.

I'm trying to run a DEDICATED INTERNET server, but when I try to join it, it won't let me because the PING SHOWS UP AS DEAD.

Also, I am having some problems with my router.

For one, it won't let me forward to Blockland's IP because the "NAPT server IP address is not a valid host LAN address."
For two, I figured out that I do have a dynamic IP and need to set up a static IP, but if I did that, I would completely lose my Blockland connection settings and I would not be able to host a game anyway.

This is loving messed up. Why couldn't Badspot just have us go through the default ports? There's lots of other ones you could use, you don't have to make us go through this bullstuff. -_-

Just set up the static IP and port foward it again, it's not that hard...

I await the day when anyone will read a loving post.

Alright, set up the static IP, and it still shows up as dead.

READ THIS! READ THIS! READ THIS! I told everyone before (but nobody seems to know how to read) that when I tried to forward my ports to Blockland's IP, it says "NAPT server IP address is not a valid host LAN address." What's wrong here.

Excuse my impatience, but there has to be SOMEBODY here right now who can help. My router doesn't allow me to forward to 192.168.1.45 and throws up the error "NAPT server IP address is not a valid host LAN address," so what am I doing wrong?

If it helps, I have a Siemens Gigaset SE567 wireless router. Here's what I'm doing:

Here is the overview. It says it redirects to my router because it throws up an error whenever I try to forward it to Blockland's IP...

Here's me trying to forward it to Blockland's IP...

And here's the error it throws up on both TCP and UDP.

Either I'm doing something wrong or Badspot missed something in his tutorial. Like I said before, why couldn't he just have Blockland go through the default ports, and why have us go through all this port forwarding and connection settings bullstuff if he can just make it connect to the Blockland servers like any normal game? Jesus loving christ...

Don't blame Badspot because you don't understand how to forward your ports. But since you keep asking I'll put effort into helping you.

Make sure you have protocol to Both.

And I'm assuming you have windows so if you do...
Start>Control Panel>Network Connections>Local area connection/wireless>Properties>scroll down to internet protocol

And the 192.168.1.1 will be whatever you used to get to your router page.

How many loving times do I have to repeat myself?
I already set it up, but I CAN'T forward it to 192.168.1.45 because it GIVES ME A loving ERROR.

Here, I'll repost my images.

THE OVERVIEW.

TRYING TO FORWARD IT TO BLOCKLAND'S IP.

THE ERROR, WHICH COMES RIGHT AFTER THE PREVIOUS.

I do know how to forward ports, but he doesn't need us to go through all this loving bullstuff. Just have us go through default ports so we don't have to go through this process.
