So I'm working on something, and:

It wouldn't even let me go back into Word, wtf?

Couldn't you just click restart later...?

Couldn't you just click restart later...?
THen it just jpops up at another inconvenient time.

well of course its because updates are ready, i had this today i just kept doing it later and later until i just said 'the heck with it' and pressed restart now

later is good enough he can easily continue on word after hitting the button.

and he cant blame stupid windows for it, because you can disable auto updating yourself. to do it manually when its convenient for you.

exactly. restart you computer more then once a week and the popup wont bother you

I wasn't on my computer.
It's annoying though, because even if I click "Restart Later" it locks me out until it's finished loading the godammed thing.

Vista lets you postpone for 10 minutes or 4 hours.

7 just doesn't bother you.  It puts a little thing in the taskbar that says updates are ready to be installed.

I don't have to restart on Ubuntu until I want to.

I only update Windows when I do clean install. After that I turn updating off. :D

Start>Run>CMD
Type in:
net stop "automatic updates"

No more nagging.
