Author Topic: AMD or Intell?  (Read 1976 times)

Well I am getting a new Desktop computer but I don't know if I should get an AMD Desktop or an Intel Desktop. I'm getting this computer mostly for gaming but also for multimedia (Fireworks 8 and stuff). Also, if anyone knows a good website for buying PC's that would also be helpful, it just can not be Dell and has to be under $500.

I've never had Intel, but I am pleased with AMD.

I never cared about cpu. i end up using whatever one goes into the mobo i want. that's where all the features really are, alot more important to have what you want in the motherboard.

Intel is alright, but AMD has a sort of wider range of choices and may be cheaper in some cases.

My Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 has yet to let me down <3
I had an AMD processor before, was a good one. Only single-core and 2.2 GHz though, so being slow was not a problem just that its old.

From a lot that I've researched, Intel will have more performance but AMD will last longer.

I choose AMD. And I'm happy with it. :)

:o
I have an E7400, hasn't let me down either.
I <3 Intel. :D

Okay, so if AMD is just as good as intel why does it cost so much less?

Eh, I would go with Intel. It seems that it is a lot less crashy.

Because the companys probably can buy the materials for less and create them for less.

.. Processors can crash?

But they're both just made of plastic and tin. :/

I went with an i7 because it was a new chip type, supported DDR3 memory, and just seemed awesome overall.

But it's so expensive. D:

Yep. I think it was worth it.

I <3 AMD because they perform better at a different speed. That's what the 4 digit number means in the name. That is what they perform like compared to Intels. ( I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure.)

Pay attention to resolutions in this next one.

AMD wins.
