He doesn't understand what SLI is.

SLI is a link between two graphics cards.

Scalable Link Interface (SLI) is a brand name for a multi-GPU solution developed by Nvidia for linking two or more video cards together to produce a single output.
And calling a video card memory isn't a exception to his ignorance. :D

You could have said that.

Saying memory could mean many things.
It was just of me to assume that you didn't know what SLI was.

Also, SLI doesnt require "SLI ready ram"
That's just a marketing scheme.

Companies make RAM that is "compatible" with SLI.

No, its not called just memory.
memory is a TERM used to describe something that stores data.

You can argue that RAM can be called this..
But its always more professional to call RAM what its called.
