It depends. I have a 2007-built compaq that struggles with flash.

Almost everything that works with Ubuntu will work with Xubuntu, as it's based off of Ubuntu.
What you get is entirely up to you.

after I selected "Try Xubuntu without any change to your computer" it loaded, and said that

Try an older version like 8.10, and then update to the newest version if you choose to install it to the hard drive.

oh, and when I installed it through windows, it said that it didnt have enough ram, it needed 256MB, and this only had 192MB

Don't install it through Windows.
Unless installation through the LiveCD doesn't work.
