Fun fact: did you know that before a decent computer came out, all they had was command-line computers? Oh, and the commands were even more insane than now?

Oh, and on Ubuntu, I haven't had to go through any command-lines to install anything.

1. Why shouldn't I know that? Just because you had to write commands for everything back then, doesn't mean I have to like that kind of system.

2. I tried to install ET on it, there was plenty of commands I had to write in Terminal and in the end the game didn't work tho I did as guide said.

I actually own a standalone PC.

I run Ubuntu :D

It runs amazingly with full visual effects on 512MB of RAM.

I have Ubuntu installed on a ancient desktop computer we have and it works perfect.
It works faster than Windows 95, which it was designed for.
:D
I'm planning on hosting my dedicated servers for games from there rather than through a paying service because I'm cheap, and Ubuntu is fun.

Of course, just like Vista, it doesn't warn you if your battery is about to die.

Vista warns you.

You'll want at least a 1.6ghz CPU and 512mb of ram (1gb is better) for a decent dedicated server.

Maybe I'll try it. :P

Oh, and back on the main topic...the only thing I hugely despise about Ubuntu is the boot time.
What boot time?

Ubuntu takes no longer to boot than any version of Windows does.

I hate ubuntu.
It's on my grandparent's computer, and playing any games on it is pure hell.
Also, it makes youtube lag.
And i honestly have no idea how to get anything installed on it.

I gave mine 1GB. Too much? :P

Vista warns you.
Eh, mine doesn't.

huh?

Mine took 2x longer than it took for my (now out of use) piece of stuff Windows 98.

Doesn't make YouTube lag for me. Oh, and to install, just run the .deb file and you're done (at least, I think it was .deb).

Weee, multiple desktops!

Oh, wow...photo editing? :P
