Ok so I followed the Add-on FAQ and they are IN my Add-on folder, however they do not appear on the Add-on menu before I start again and I have to re-download them again to join a server. Can any one help?

I'm going to try changing them all to .zip files I'll tell you if it works.

Yes. My folders all have .zip at the end

Did you ZIP any folders?
Folders(not ZIPs) are storage for other add-ons by other servers. They contain only models and images. They cannot be made into add-ons for use on your own server.

Ok so now I have to download the SAME add-on's again every time I join a server! Please Help!

Some people edit add-ons. Maybe that's why you are having to re-download them while joining a server.

Do NOT touch the folders. Only touch ZIPs.
The folders that are not zipped are downloaded from a server for models and textures. They should not be touched, nor can they be converted into an add-on.

So what do I do? It doesn't allow me to use the add-ons in my-own server.

When you download something, just put it in your add-ons folder, and then, DO NOTHING TO IT.

If you've been to any servers, you'll find there are some regular folders in your Add-ons folder. These are purely to allow you to use that add-on on another server, and cannot be modified to be used on your server. You must download add-ons from the internet to use them on your server.

Myes that makes more sense Regulith.
