I know how to on mac
First get Gamepad Companion then set a letter or buttion to it
Then set it up on options to what you set the controller

It doesn't matter what game or application you use joy2key for. It will always work the same.
It changes the controller input to keyboard input, simple as that.

Double click on one of the controller inputs in the list, and set what you want that button to do.
Example, if you wanted button 1 to make you jump, and the space key makes you jump, set button 1 to space.
