Here's the thing, why would you need to press both Ctrl+Shift in gaming?
I've never heard of crouch-sprinting.

Call of Duty 4 crouch sniping. Shift holds breath for steadier shots. Anyway, like I said, i'm trying to change to the normal method lol

I don't really think it matters what positioning you use, as long as it works for you.

Well, like zz_tophat said, the thumb has a terrible reaction time compared to the other fingers.

D - Index Finger
S/W - Middle Finger
A - Ring Finger

Typing- Index fingers.

That's interesting. Oh, that was call of duty for PC btw :s.
Anyway, I'm trying to convert to the "right" way now, but its tough. Not necessarily just for using wasd because that's pretty easy, but it's hard to hold control and shift and stuff

I know, that's why you were doing so well. However the movement speed in exactly the same as it is on the console.

same as colten but thumb is always on spacebar

Oh, I get you now. I'm not a fan of fast-paced fpses like unreal tournament though, I'm more into tactical shooters like CoD4. Then again, maybe that's why!

I would always have it Ring finger on A, Middle finger on W and S, index finger on D, pinky on shift, and lastly thumb on space.

a few months ago I got this:

<3 it and cant play games like wow without it. :)

Middle on W
Ring on A
Index on D

On my laptop I screwed around with the movement and stuff. I think I came up with D to walk forward, (C to look down, and E to look up) S to walk to the left, F to walk to the right, and Control C to walk backwards.

There was also a bunch of other complicated stuff. Right mouse was the zoom button.

w - middle finger
a - ring finger
d = index finger
Then I shift my middle finger down to go backwards. Same thing I do wih the arrow keys.
