Yes, and it's a huge one, consider that the normal thumb button on a keyboard is the space bar. This one big key is there for both thumbs because despite their usefulness in grasping things thumbs happen to be the big idiot of the digit world (think about all the keys you could have there if your thumbs were smart enough to use them).

Try this: tap your index finger on your desk as fast as you can while resting your palm on the desk, now try your thumb. Now this may not matter for a game like call of duty because of the game's normally slow movement but try the unreal games with their double tapping strafing and the need to rapidly change direction and you'll be hosed.

Your vid there isn't bad but you should note that call of duty is a game made first for the console systems. Anyone will tell you that thumbstick aiming is nothing compared to mouse aiming, this is why games like halo seem to be almost slow motion compared to pc exclusive shooters.

That's interesting. Oh, that was call of duty for PC btw :s.
Anyway, I'm trying to convert to the "right" way now, but its tough. Not necessarily just for using wasd because that's pretty easy, but it's hard to hold control and shift and stuff

Crunchie, how big are your hands? Because they would have to be pretty small for your finger positions to be comfortable. Actually, I don't think even for small-handed people that it would comfortable.

My hand span reaches from A to Enter if that gives you an idea.

If by that you mean if you go from pinky to thumb outstretched as your handspan, then you have the same size of hand as me.

Where is your keyboard located relative to you when you sit, like which keys are directly infront of you? (assuming you have normal straight/not-ergonomic keyboard)

Yes, and arrow keys are directly in front of me.

No, it's pretty much straight.

Then I'm wtfing at your hand, how could you have your thumb and fingers curved so much?

I don't see how you have your hand/digits like that.

Like this:

So is the bottom of your palm(the part that is closer to wrist) in the air?

I always have my fingers normally on the WASD keys and my thumb on the space bar, even when I'm not typing.

Sounds wrong. hehe.

Yep, and ring finger is on shift, pinky is on control.

I keep my fingers all over the place, it kind've helps me type fast.

Yep, and ring finger is on shift, pinky is on control.
Here's the thing, why would you need to press both Ctrl+Shift in gaming?
I've never heard of crouch-sprinting.
