Okay, this sort of relates to what was being said earlier about the "Brick Catalog". It's just an idea that was floating around in my head that I felt might possibly work.
Here's how it would work:
Everyone who wishes to, can submit their model for a brick. The submission of course would include pictures and minor details such as the submitter's name, the name of the brick, etc.
All of the submissions would be sent into this catalog, sort of like the Download Manager (On a side note, this system would work through RTB, which is pretty much a given anyway). Anyone is free to browse the catalog and vote on any brick they wish (maybe there would be a limit to a few votes per day to avoid excessive voting). There would either be a "Thumbs up" (+1) option, or "Thumbs down" (-1). The submissions in the catalog list would include a vote counter next to them, to track how many points a certain brick has. If the number of votes got below a certain number (say "-15"), then it would be automatically sent to the Fail Bin or whatever it's called.
Eventually, at the end of a certain time period, the brick (yes, most likely only one, to ensure only utmost quality) with the most votes would be reviewed by those with the converter (IE Trader, Ephialtes, Kaje, TheGeek). The number of faces would be checked, as well as any other deciding factors that I am not going to be pretend I know anything about. This would ensure that the brick would not lower frame rate too much.
At this point, if the brick model was approved by both the community through votes, and the "certified modders", it would begin it's process through the BLB converter and make its way to the downloading section, where we download the quality bricks for our enjoyment.
There are still a few things that would have to be ironed out: How will the system prevent people from exploiting it, such as being able to vote more than the daily maximum? How many votes will players be given daily? How often is voting held and for how long? A month?
...and so on.
