Ephi now your just trying too hard. You need to figure out being a richard to people is not always the way to go, just keep your ideas on if they can do it or not to yourself.

You're just butthurt because I've already called you out successfully on atleast one (that I remember) of your failed mod attempts ... :panda:

I will continue to behave as I wish on these forums until someone I have an ounce of respect for advises me otherwise. All I have received from these people so far is support, so too bad!

So, your main point is finally expressed? Well, I know that I've made some "stuff" in the time I've been here but from doing so I've learned many things.

In this case your quote of "stuff" has confused me. What do you mean by "It is", do you mean my code is stuff, I'm stuff, or just my general being is a pile of stuff in which you are the fly that buzzes around to pester me. You say that I fail, yet I'm still here. I've made successful things, I have a bountiful array of knowledge that I've learned. I've also learned about the cruel people that inhabit this community. As well, you have spent who knows how long writing that "Intriguing" response you could have posted some constructive criticism. Rather then to criticize my own and others work. Also, what is it exactly that makes me a "Failed" moderator? I've not finished a couple of projects, so what? This is a game, coding is not reality. Not finishing a project does not make me a failure, when I run out of ideas, or people are no longer interested in the project I shut it down. That is how it should be, that is how it is, that is how I am.

As well, I'm not trying to "Disgrace" you. I'm trying to stop your from continuing your attitude towards those who can learn, I've learned many new things since my first mod was put under development and I plan to put the knowledge towards the well being of my current project. Who do you have respect for? Perhaps three, four people on the entire forum?

I'm not saying you should stop, But I am advising people against getting excited about it, helping with it, or looking forward to seeing it into fruition. I've never called you a failure, you seem to be persistently misinterpreting what I say or trying to put words into my mouth. You have an unhealthy track record for failed projects and I merely suggest you attempt something more appropriately suited to your skill set. But feel free to ignore my advice and pump your efforts into another failure. Don't worry about disappointing these kids, they'll have forgotten by the time you come up with a new one.

I spent roughly 10 minutes writing my reply.

Well, if you think that this is "Above" my skill level, then what do you suggest I make? Perhaps some "Lesser" scripts, "Lesser" mods, or "Lesser" weapons.

My first add-on was a success. But you're right about that the person should focus on what they can do, not what they want to do.

That would be sensible, yeah.

Well, thanks for the advice. I'm going to continue the mod currently in progress. If I fail to finish or at least "Produce" a result. I will return to coding small scripts and such.

I suppose by Hotel in the poll you meant Lounge.

Yes, fixing.

I always re-evaluate people's abilities
If that's true, then I think eph is being fair.

Kunit, he's right if you don't have anything to backup your progress, just make something that's adequate (this gamemode) and that should settle it. I suggest trying to use encapsulation in your code so you might be able to easily take code from a failed add-on. I'm still not sure whether I'm going to finish the manipulator since the duplicator seems to be doing well, but my virtualBrickList script object has been useful in a ton of my other add-ons. Also the Brick Finder is now functional so even if I don't complete the space station build gamemode, I'll have two support mods that will make dealing with bricks in any case, extremely easy. I also consider these, although not complete add-ons, to be good examples of my work/skill.

Good luck with the gamemode. Hope I didn't bring that argument back from the grave :P

You know, I remember someone saying to me that a challenge is always good, they help you progress further and faster. If people just stuck to making 'lesser' scripts/mods/weapons, well... we wouldn't have that many good mods out there now would we.

I think we should take on challenges, and if we fail, we have failed for the better and learned a lot in the process (Unless you were way over your head and didn't really do a thing).

Not that I disagree with you on all points Ephialtes.

But I guess I'm talking to a wall as I'm not one of the people that you have a shred of respect for :(

Hope I didn't bring that argument back from the grave :P
Me too.

Nitramtj get on msn :(

but you should stop speaking your mind on deaf ears for your sake, and ours.

If you actually reviewed the outcome of this discussion you'd see that the relevant ears were not deaf.

Saw that italics edit. :O

I realize that this conversation is over, and I was wrong about deaf ears. But still, the rest of my post is relevant so it doesn't matter.

Ok, we need ideas for some of the lounge minigame system.

Idea List:
  • King of the castle - Race to the top of the castle and claim it as your own! - Done!
  • Stay Alive - Dodge flying bullets, pits of flame, and even a groundhog! - Done!
  • Quick Math - Generates a random math question you have to answer in chat. - Done!
  • Labyrinth  - Make your way to the end of the maze without being killed. - Done!
