Author Topic: Default Zipping Program  (Read 841 times)

Ok, just a quick question. Is there a free default zipping program for Microsoft XP, and if so, how do i access and use it? Some sort of tutorial or instructions, or a link to a tutorial or instructions, would be greatly appreciated.

Winzip: http://www.winzip.com/downauto.cgi?o=1&file=http://download.winzip.com/wzd/winzip121.exe&email=your%20email
Download, install. Make a folder, put all the add-on files in it. Highlight the files, right click, add to archive, change from .rar to zip, name it, and then your good.

ok, thanks. Btw, your weapon making tutorial is great. Oh, and if any of you are wondering why im asking all this stuff it is because im messing around with weapon scripts in hope that one day i can script.

There is one that comes with XP, isn't there? Can't you just double-click zips to open them and view them like they're any other folder?

And I use 7zip because it's free and it compresses very well.

I use WinRAR.
It's basically WinZIP with support for RAR archives.

IZarc is what i use and it's awesome and easy IMO :D

Right click -> Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder

7-Zip is useful for other formats, though.

Im going to have to go with 7zip here.
