I saw a bunch of commercials and trailers and it looked like stuff to me. :/

I thought that too at first, but it is actually better than expected. A sci-fi-action-drama film. CGI was better than expected, you really get used to "believing" that there are aliens in D9 once the film gets rolling.

They should stop calling them horror films and instead call them Vomit films.
My family calls them "Pee the walls" movies because some movie line the guy was like "If you watch that you will be up all night peeing the walls!"

Why is this movie rated R anyways?

Meh, that ship thing isn't as big as my snake :D

Bloody violence and pervasive language.

the CHILDREN must not see VIOLENCE because they will IMITATE IT because they are STUPID

I sort of liked it. For some reason I could see this storyline morphing into the storyline of prototype, but without getting assraped 24/7.

Sort of cliffhanger at the end, and two awesome previes, Jennifer's Body with Megan Fox as a hot vampire who eats guys (not like that lol), and Zombieland which looks awesome.

I like how the parents page on IMDB for District 9 lists the cat food in the movie as being remotely like drug usage. As if that would make a difference.

I want to see this, but I don't want to spoil it for myself.

So I shall ignore all of you.

If aliens really came to earth, the Government fail to coverup.

Most Alien Sightings are the government hiding there secret weapons such as the spy planes (Back in the day), if a space ship landed on live TV, the government wouldn't/couldn't hide it. If we're talking mothership/huge ship then a cover up is highly unlikely, if we are talking a 2-10 man ship then they could hide it to stop panic etc.

Actually they might just nuke it for all we know and say it was a Russian homing device

They all die

Some of old age

Movie of the year.  I must see it.
I like the approach they take on alien life coming to Earth.  It's not only a new approach, but they have done it so well, especially by including discernible emotions in the aliens.

I've watched previews and read articles on io9 about it.
