Author Topic: GIMP GIF Problem  (Read 1082 times)

Well, I made an Animation in GIMP, Which is probably the best free image editing program there is IMO, but when I made a GIF using the filters, animation, Customize GIF or whatever, It worked fine, and I was able to play it back and save it. Even when I view it on "My Pictures" it works fine. But when I tried to upload it as my avatar picture, Its not a GIF, just the first frame. And the forum's didn't say it was too big, it just stays on the first frame. Any help?

The forums will auto-resize it if it's too large and kill the animation.  Make sure it is not too big.

Its only 5 frames. Is that too much?

No it doesn't.
I thought if the Image wasn't 75 by 75 the gif doesn't work.

No, because if it was 74 by 74 then it wouldn't work.

That might be true, my Easytoon GIF worked, and I was told to make it a 75x75.

I mean 75 x 75 or less :/

If you have more than one frame, GIMP will ask you if you want to merge the layers or animate it. If it's not animated, you either animated it wrong or merged it. If you merged, try animating instead. If you animated, make sure you picked "replace" for your frames and not "cumulitive" or "I don't care."
