Author Topic: Help Portforwarding  (Read 1594 times)

Yes, I know there's a stickied topic for Mac's about port forwarding.
When I open airport, the IP adresses I give it don't work. Does it have to be a LAN IP address or not?

mac dose have problems with port fording but you could disalbe your fire wall the allow it

No, I was able to host at my friend's house the other day. I just have cable and need to portforward.

Yes it does have to be a LAN IP.

Okay, and where would I find that, if you would be so kind?

For Macs, I have no damn clue.

I've figured it out.

(Apple icon thingy)>System Preferences...
In the Internet & Network section click the Network icon.
Goto probably built in, and click configure.

It should show you right there.

uhh..

It has quite a few things.
Let's see..
IPv4 Address
Subnet mask
Router address - I have tried this multiple times, hasn't worked.
DNS servers

Some more stuff, but I can't be bothered to explain them all.

It has quite a few things.
Let's see..
IPv4 Address - Your IP address that you need for port forwarding (I guess the static IP or whatever if your trying to set that up)
Subnet mask - Not really sure but when I port forwarded it asked for it
Router address - The IP address of your Router
DNS servers - Has to do with your internet connection through your router I think
Just trying to help. And I got a windows not a mac so I don't know where you have to put this stuff but all the names are the same as windows.

DNS Server is your domain name server which is for viewing domain names rather than inputting IPs

It's actually about the ISP.

DNS = your worst nightmare as a domain owner

And the password that I need is the network password. Correct?
