Author Topic: LAN game  (Read 1023 times)

I have 2 PC's on the network both running individual genuine licensed copies of Blockland.
I am trying to get them to work across the network to play a LAN game but am having no luck!!
When I try to run as a LAN game the PC that is trying to connect gets the message "The server has dropped the connection" and a message appears on the host screen saying "[player] has left the game"
looking at the log, it looks like the player was kicked because the server thinks it's an internet client, trying to connect to a LAN game
So I tried running it as an internet game. Same thing happens but this time i get the message "blockland ID could not be verified"
I've tried hosting on both PC's and the same thing happens.

I've tried all the usual suggestions on the forum like changing my blockland name or re-entering my blockland key. I even set up port forwarding on my router (port 28000 - 28032).
Also I can connect to internet games no problem on both PC's

Any ideas?

Do the computers have piferent I.P.s?

it is not 28000-28032! it is 28000-28000

Uh, no.
The ports from 28000 to whatever, are the amount of people you can host to.
Also, here's a tip: Try using a Dedicated LAN server, see if you have any luck with that.

Wrong sir! i have a dedicated that is running that supports 50 players and is forded to 28000-28000!

The system has changed quite a few times since I joined Blockland.
When I started it was 28000-28030
Then I think V9 made it 28000-28032 (or more for more server slots)
and I think now adays its just open the amount of ports you want players. So if you want 50 players and the server to appear alive to do 28000-28050 (I think)

The reason I opened those ports is because that's what it says in the help box that pops up when you first try to make an internet game.
I've also just disabled the firewall on both PC's too and that made no difference.

**Tingalz** yes both PC's have separate IP's in the same IP range.

Just going to check the obvious are you using the Query LAN function?

Yeah, I am using Query LAN and I can see the server no problems.
Also when I set up an internet game, I can use Query Internet and I can see my server in the list.

You wont be able to, it is still on your lan then, even though it is an internet game.

I have tried setting up an internet game and connecting via the Query lan option and the same thing happens

Just tried the dedicated server. Same thing happens.

try using 1 key one bot pcs

You are an idiot. Blockland can't support 50 players with only one port. You are wrong.

As interesting as this 'port debate' is, it's not helping me much, I cant even get 2 PC's working :)
Any more suggestions on my problem?
