Author Topic: Wicked thunderstorm in southern Ontario - F2 Tornado!  (Read 2311 times)

Jesus christ! We had this massive thunderstorm (I'm in Oshawa right now) that knocked out power for the night, it just turned on. We had a portable radio with us and the news told us that an F2 Tornado had touched down in Vaughan - DIRECTLY NORTH OF US!

Luckly, this video must have been uploaded to Youtube like twenty minutes ago.

As you can see in the video, the tornado is throwing trees and the roofs of houses into the air like no tomorrow.

Oshawa is so goddamn lucky we didn't get it.

DISCUSS.

meh, F2 is weak.
F5 is when you really get screwed  :cookieMonster:

Yeah I heard about a tornado around southern Ontario. Didn't know where. Someone said one also hit Waterloo, but I don't follow the news so I have no idea.

Ontario has almost NEVER gotten a tornado - F2 is pretty amazing. Plus, F5 is almost impossible to encounter.

Oh my god. Dude if you were there you'd be in the air :D

When I was up in Minnesota a few years ago, a funnel cloud flew right over our campground. Of course, it didn't touch down, but it was pretty damn close.

There was no nearby protection. No matter how weak it could've been, we'd be screwed.

I'm from Ontario, and I believe there was a tornado somewhere around my area the time I lived over in Dryden.

We almost had one in Utah in 200...7 I think. I never saw a tornado from the naked eye, so that was pretty damn cool.

There was an F5 in Baltimore County I think a while ago.

We had one summer were there were a stuff loads of tornadoes. I dunno why, but at the time I stuff my pants whenever I heard tornado watch. Now that I live in a condominium I find them destructively beautiful, same with lightning. The only thing I'll be worried about is "Is my computer bolted down?!"

I'm on the other side of Canada and there is a thunderstorm. D:

When the radio said there may be more storms heading for Durham (My area of Oshawa), that's exactly what I thought first.

Only reason I like Oregon, no major weather like hurricanes or tornadoes, though earthquakes are rather common, I've only been in one and it was really small. Then again, there's that whole worry about tsunamis and stuff, and that's supposed to happen when exactly? You guessed it, 2012!

Severe thunderstorm watch, wind is picking up too. I can see a huge dark cloud almost swirling from my window, I'm scared.

I was once in an alt f4 tornado! Wait, wut.

And, haha, alt F4 tornado

Now the storm looks more like a hurricanes eye to me. There's just one huge circle of sunlight coming through. Wut?

Anyways the storms blown over and it's no longer a threat.
Hurricane Bill is supposed to be blown off from landfall by a front pushing east.
